PARK N' PRAISE 2016

SHEPHERD'S PARKWAY
2931 MLK AVE, S.E., WASHINGTON,DC

On our way to school and work we walk past hundreds of strangers. Rarely, do we know what is going on in their lives. From a 2012 study, we know that in the District of Columbia two out every ten people you meet while commuting are living in absolute poverty. Absolute poverty can mean lack of access to adequate housing, food, education or healthcare. Each year, Park N Praise (PNP) dedicates its resources and energies to give people who live in these communities hope. We believe that the work we do plants seeds in their hearts, assuring them that God cares about their sufferings. The smiles that we place on a child's face or the warmth felt from a volunteer’s hug lets them know that they are not alone. God is listening. This year, we have been listening and we want you to partner with us as we ease some of the suffering in the poorest community in our nation's capital: Barry Farm.

Although the District's poverty rate is two out ten, Barry Farm's is significantly worse. Two out every three people who live in that section of the city are poor. The Barry Farm community is fighting to survive. We asked the residents of that community how we could help them and they said they needed us stand alongside them as they fight for housing and their children In response to this request, we are pooling our resources with the goal of providing hope to their community. Partner with us as we join them in fighting for adequate housing, a basic need for any family, and baby care products: diapers and wipes. With your support we can provide housing to hundreds and a year's supply of diapers and wipes to thousands. Will you join us?
